CL 2/3

A. Analyze the claim

  1. Stereotypical “adultescents” need to bond together and demand a student movement for higher education funding.
  2. This claim is qualified by “general movement—for higher education funding”

B. Analyze the reasons and evidence

  1. Because students spend thousands more of dollars than they actually have to by the time they are out of college, they are thousands of dollars in debt. , Colleges have started to realize this claim and began to reduce their tuition. , Students need to stand up for themselves because no one else is paying for college so who else cares?
  2. “At selective colleges in 2004, only 10 percent of students came from the bottom half of the income scale.” , “Yale announced that it would no longer expect any tuition contribution at a all from families earning less than $45,000 a year.” and The bush administration had $15 billion cuts and new fees. , ” American college students need to experience that ‘click’ mo ent, as the feminists of 1970s called it, and realize that our personal problem are also political. If we young people don’t march on our own behalf, who will march for us?”
  3. Each reason is believable and relatable to each piece of evidence.

C. Warrants

  1. I stated that students don’t have the money to go to college so when they get out they will be in debt and my reason is proof that there are students that attend college that are on the bottom half of the income scale. Colleges began to reduce their tuition and my evidence was that Yale does not charge for tuition depending on their families income. Last is self-explanatory.
  2. I share these assumptions. I believe the claim that I stated and I agree with my reasons.

D. Rebuttals

  • I personally do not see any contradictions.
